Was looking at Youtube videos on hiding Soundbar wires, but was amazed how they cut their walls using plain kitchen knife. It appeared as if their walls were of thick cardboard/cork or some other material. Surprisingly none had either a satellite or cable system. [I have a STB which also needs be hidden at the back]. Any ideas what they use?

I'd guess drywalls.
Could you link one of the videos?

Its called Gypsum board.
Alternatively wood walls. You can't cut through with a knife for sure. Drilling is still a lot easier than dealing with concrete.
I had my heat pump installed in under 2 hours with just one person doing all the work! Making a hole in the wall for the pipes to pass through was the easiest I have ever seen. Cleaning up is also much easier.
