Hello all,

Am planning to have a small inhouse party/dance place which is similar to disc (if not disc). basically a good sound output is what i am looking.

So i need suggestion on what kind of Components (viz if Woofer- what size? , If floor standing - what model or brand) i should use for Sound.

Room size - 15*16 feet.

I do not have a budget planned as of now. but looks like it will be around a Lac plus or minus. not concerned on the Brand but only on the sound output.

Planning to put screen & projector - but thats longshot plan.

was thinking - 2 floor standings + 2 surround + center + Woofer + Amp. feel free to suggest if this is the right combi or anything else u suggest.

If loud punchy DJ music is what you want, then i guess you should take a look at Cerwin Vega. Many indian dealers stock them

First and foremost, you don't need surrounds or center for Domestic Discotheque. You will need Stereo set-up (speakers and subwoofer for Bass if required). As your room is almost square it would be slightly difficult to achieve good sound. I would suggest you to go for Pro-audio. Like JBL speakers (2-4 No.s) and a Subwoofer (12-15"). Yamaha P-S series amplifiers are good to start.

However it all depends on your budget then you have many good options.

Hi Prepress, thank you for the heads-up.

so are you saying i dont require a 5.1 kind of setup, but something like instead 2 floors tandings, have 4. & a sub.

correct me if i have understood you properly. also suggest me what speakers models are good in Jamo. based on that i can have a similar set up for other equivalent brands speakers as well.

any other suggestion would also welcome. i am ok, if i dont get hte best sounddue to room dynamics!

When It comes to Party, Loud Music the the purpose.

Hence you could go with JBL or Cervin Vega (SLX 6\SLX 15) who are good for partying.

For 15*16 feet Room - Two 15Inch speakers with A Sub should be sufficient

in absolute terms as well as cost to sound quality as well. as i dont think i will be able to get a audition for this in bangalore.

Personally I like JBL since I owned it, they color the music Well. Cerwi vega were too much coloring But might be good for party with Loudness On.

I saw Cerwin Vega in Bangalore What Hifi show last month, So they should be available for Demo as well.

JBL is common brand and they should be atleast 3-4 dealers in and around Bangalore as well.

Just need search for them

thank you guys for the suggestion.

I have auditioned most of them now. i find, if i am just looking for good clarity of Music, there is no point spending so much money & the same can be attained with a creative or a bose basic speakers. - around 10-15k

but if you looking at good effect without Headache & nice base - CERWIN VEGA is the way to go. it also depends on AV's. Dennon gave headache with the same speakers.Also, i found Onkyos are best with them

So i have decided to go for cerwin vega SL 12 + sl 45c+ XLS + SL 10S.

Hello all,

After Lot of auditions, i picked up a Cervin vega LS 15 from the used market for a good price.

Now the question is what AMP to buy?
please give me few options as well...

Try to get a 4 channel amp and add another pair of speakers. That should really rumble

I have shortlisted on 2 amp - ONKYO 609 & onkyo 636 for cerwin vega.

Which one you think i should choose?

I think i am in last step of doing up my home theatre! any help appreciated!

Just now only happened to see the thread. I am not sure about your budget still to say I would have proffered QSC powered speakers which is what I found in many DJs. They were rumbling big halls with out even a support of SUBs.

Oh yes, even i heard the QSC SDS52 they are amazing. hence am planning to get them for my sorround along with the Cerwin vega. they are at $170 for pair.

whats your opinion on this?
