Hi can some one suggest/guide me on home theater in mumbai I had seen NAD AV receiver and psb alpha speakers.and I like the sound but never heard this brand before anywhere. Can someone suggest me how it's compare to Danon, marantz, yamaha.

Hi Poppy,

Every receiver & speaker sounds different and there is no comparison. If for sake of comp, it can be segregated like warm, neutral, aggressive etc. NAD and PSB's are great brands, but check n compare with others too. If you like nad sound, then check marantz and yamaha also. BTW whats your budget and room size ?? Happy hunting !

Thanks pran for the reply I am planning to install in my living room which is 1416 sitting area.by budget is around 1L.

If you look at complete 5.1 HT setup with NAD & PSB, budget wont suffice. Whats your plan, full 5.1/7.1 or startup with 2 and slowly build ? (its only monetary related as need to understand how much you want to shell out in coming 2-3 years)

Looking at complete 5.1 if it's 10k or 15k more it's OK. Again I am taking this budget only for system not for projector for projector decided on benq 1070. And screen .96". Which is additional 120k.

Home Theatre System around 1 Lac

Hi.

I liked the Sound Bar :
CineMate 1 SR Home Theatre Speaker System of Bose but it seems bit expensive. I am really impressed with surround technology of Bose.

I love watching English action movies over Tata Sky HD - DTH on Panasonic Plasma of 42". Apart of this I play Gazals and classical music.

Can you suggest me a good option in comparison of above sound bar ?

Size of the drawing room is 15x15x12.

Hi Poppy,

There are a lot of competitive receivers available today with loads of features which is common to most of them. You can refer to countless reviews and youtube videos for any information on performance etc. Strong brands are Denon / Pioneer / Yamaha etc who boast of power and supposed performance..on the other hand there is Marantz which does have appropriate options...slim series AVR NR series which looks decent, has about 50w RMS per channel and performs well on satellites, floor speakers as well as bookshelfs which are upto 150w pc.

Hifi Mart has the NR1504 + Boston Acoustic Soundware XS 5.1 for 51k odd...you will have to spend on good Speaker OFC wires, HDMI, subwoofer cables, Blu Ray player etc. If you don't want the Boston cube speakers which are any day better than Bose Acousticmass, you can settle for some decent bookshelfs and front towers...

Remember it depends what appeals to your choice in terms of performance, looks, budget and style.

All the best..hope this helps and congratulations
