Hi i would like to buy a HT setup with a budget of 1L. My room is 15ft*15ft with a height of 10ft and a viewing distance of 8-10ft.
I would like to use it mainly to watch movies via PC and regular tata sky stuff. I am not into music as such.
My main concern is that i am gonna watch movies ,series via PC.

I am open to all brands and would like to buy from Hifimart/Online.
I dont really have option of checking out all the brands in stores and would like to trust members advice.
I am open to HTIB or buying AVR+speakers separately.
Looking for fast and valuable advice.

I always thought Bose makes the best speakers and was about to buy them .What a right time to browse this site .

Bose is a controversial subject in this forum. Its like Delhi ka Laddu aur shadi ka laddu Jo khaya Wo pasthya, Jo nehi khaya Wo bhi pasthaya !

Your budget is very good. Don't settle for HtiB. Go for separates an AVR (Denon, Yamaha, Pioneer) then choose speakers. You can consider Tannoy hts 101 as a prepackage HT speaker set up (Tannoy HTS-101 review from the experts at whathifi.com. )
Or go for Polk bookshelf and centre speakers. (Profx - Advanced Audio Solutions)

Go through the forum and old posts, see what other people has bought, you can always use that as a starting point.

Browse this site also for options > The Home Theater Store
hifimart.com

no need to go for HTIB you have got good budget....I will suggest you to go for a mid-range AVR either Denon X1000 or Yamaha 473 or 475.
For speakers you can go for Sonodyne, Klipsch, Jamo, Dali, Paradigm......

If you spend enough time on the forum, you will understand anything but BOSE!!! You have a decent budget, please listen to all the various speakers/receivers combos and then decide. Here are some names to get you started:

Receivers : Marantz, Denon, Onkyo, Yamaha
Speakers : Tannoy, Wharfedale, Paradigm, Polk Audio, PSB, Mordaunt Short

Along with the excellent advice given by FMs above, pls consider the following points -
1. Get a modern AVR that has good power (more the better). Other features are mostly frills.
2. For movies, sub woofer is a very imp component. Get a good one - i like at least a 10 incher.
3. For speakers i'd recommend Sonodyne 2605, Polk tsx series (highest in the series you can afford), Tannoy Mercury V4, Magnat supreme 1000 (i have these and love them for movies), Definitive Technology. Most people here think bookshelves are good enough for movies but i have always preferred floor standers. It is best to buy speakers after auditioning them.
4. If budget is a limitation, it is considered best to buy LCR speakers first and surrounds later.

Browsing the post . I am inclines towards Polk and Wharfedale Speakers. I am gonna compare out Diamond series , DX-1 and Polk Tsx series. If there is not much difference to my ear in DX-1 and Diamond i will go for DX-1. If there is huge difference i might end up spending 20-25k more. I am gonna choose AVR Denon X-1000. I was also interested in Q-acoustics q-2000i but coudnt find much on it.
I am visiting delhi tomorrow can anybody please tell me the latest rates of
1) Denon X-1000
2)Wharfedale DX-1
3)Polk TsX Series (330,440,220,110 Plz Also suggest Subwoofer and Centre Speaker with prices)
4)Wharfedale Diamond Series ( I am not interested in upgrading later so def need the sorrounds also. I am thinking of going for 10.1 or 10.2 with corresponding speakers)

5)Q-Acoustics 2000i if available.

Also suggest me good dealers in delhi .My first stop is Bass n Treble as of now. Thanks

Hello friends,

I am new to this forum and I am looking at buying a home theater in the same range. i stumbled upon a company called Audio Planet on FB. Any reviews about this company would be helpful. I have pasted the url below, thanks for your help in advance

I was also on the same budget, settled with Denon 1000 and Polk TSx... happy with the purchase so far. But you audition whatever possible in the budget as sound signature is a highly personal affair.

Hi Premblr Can u tell me what exact speakers u went for in Polk and how much they costed u ? Also can u tell me the final price of AVR X-1000

RT now i am thinking of going with as per Zansaar.
1 Denon AVR-X1000 AV Surround Receiver ? 38370
2 Polk Audio TSx 440T Tower Speaker- Black - Pair ? 36270
3 Polk Audio TSx 150C Center Channel Speaker - Black - Single ? 11160
4 Polk Audio TSx 110B Bookshelf Speaker - Black - Pair ? 13020
5 Polk Audio PSW110 Subwoofer - Black - Single ? 17205

I feel your center channel will be a weak link in the below setup.
You may want to consider the TSx 250C as you have good floorstanders as fronts.

Hi,

I am planning to set up a dedicated home theater room.
The room size is about 220 sq feet ( 20 ft long and 11 ft broad).
I will have projector in it too.

Please could you guide me which home theater set to take. I am facing a lot of confusion as i have seen high end brands like Paradigm and Focal and also have heard a mid-range home theater system of Pioneer.

Can someone please let me know what difference will i face in different brands and which model should i go for ?

1. Paradigm CT 200 ( Front and center ) and Paradigm CT 100 ( Rear Speakers ) and Paradigm Sub woofer
2. Focal Speakers
3. Pioneer RS 32

Also , which amp to go for ? ( Denon avr 1000 or Avr 3000 )
My budget would be from 40 K - 1.5 l on a higher side. he budget is entirely for Speakers , subwoofers and Amp
My concern is my room size also. It has concrete flooring.
