Hi all,
I am new to this forum.
I have to set up a home theatre for a room 12' x 19' .
Please suggest all of the above , majorly for watching movies.
My budget is 2 lacs. Apart from what brands & models I should go for I would also like to know whom to consult for all installation, wiring & programming.
Thanks,
shweta
Normally this sort of question does not get much answer as the question is too generic and someone cannot suggest without knowing whats your preferences are when it comes to audio.
But I will try to give some suggestion with keeping the budget in mind and experience I have with the brands I mentioned below. I had taken audition of different AVR and speaker combination before I chose what I have now which is entirely my own preference. Based on all these factors you may consider following options
1. AVR - Yamaha, Denon, Pioneer. I would suggest Denon X1300W as the setup is for movies, and for your room size 7.1 should be opted. Should be 48K approx.
2. A decent bluray 3D player with USB and DLNA should cost you around 10k
OR
and android box as media player, should cost you below 10k. You can also evaluate options of appleTV/Roku/FireTV or any recent gaming console (specially xbox One) etc etc.
3. Speakers - Pair of Polk TSx 440 + center TSx 250c + surround and rear 2 set of OWM3 + DSW PRO 550 subwoofer ( in my opinion this is the minimum setup for room size required). Should cost approx 85-90K. I am not aware of other brands models or price, never used personally apart from auditioning in shops, so cannot comment on performance or price.
4. Projector - Epson, Benq, Optoma. Would suggest Optoma full HD 3D (HD26 or HD142x), as you seem to have enough space and do not need a short throw projector (considering your screen would be on 12' wall which gives projector to set up along 19' length of the room). If bought from abroad (amazon.com, amazon.de or similar) you should get within 50K all inclusive.
5. Screen - better if you can manage to build one fixed screen by carpenter. Search, there are many threads here in hifivision explaining how to make one. No idea about cost. A DIY screen is always cheaper than branded fixed screens.
6. Mounts and cables - 14AWG gauge cables should be fine for your setup. projector mounts you get in amazon.in. HDMI cable also you get in amazon.in, go for bluerigger brand.
For installation, ProFx provides service, there should be some other provider also local to your place, may be other FM can help you in that matter.
The suggestion of Denon and Polk, is because I use them and I am satisfied with their performance and price factor. Definitely it would be better if you can audition different options available in market and choose which suites you.
