Hi,

I am planning to set up a dedicated home theatre system in my room of 220 sq ft.
I am basically going to use it mainly for movies. My budget for the receiver and speakers are in total Rs 1 lakh.
I heard Focal Sib & Cub and i liked it. Also for the receiver , i wanted to opt for Denon avr X2000 as it is a 7.1 channel receiver and i can update my system in future if i want it.

Please could you let me know if this is a good combination ( Focal sib & cub + Denon Avr X2000) or would you suggest some other combinations within the price range ?

Hi

I use a Marantz NR 1402 with Boston Acoustics Soundware XS 5.1 in a 200 sq ft room which works well at 45% volume. The Music clarity is amazingly warm and deep....movies are outstanding..blu rays work well with deafening effects of explosions / glass shatters, concerts sound great too...I purchased this (AVR + spks) for almost 48k in March 2013 and have no complaints whatsoever. I used different reputed brands of AVRs and systems for the past 11 years and nothing compares to the Marantz...you can click on my user name to see the posts...

the NR 1402 is discontinued, the NR 1504 Marantz (with airplay) is available with the Bostons as a combo deal on HiFi Mart for 51k...check it out...

Before you take any decision, audition as many systems you can and shortlist a few..then go on the web and read reviews and or see demo videos posted by users across the globe...this will help to influence your decision. Speakers need to be able to drive and perform across all frequencies (20hz - 20khz) this is missing in Bose Acoustimass or Jewel cubes...

The AVR or amp needs to deliver power across all these frequencies ...this will ensure better harmony (avr+spks)..end of the day it is what appeals to your tastes and wallet.

Hope this helps
