Hi, I posted this query in another thread but didn't get any reply :-) I don't have a PC with blu-ray drive but have lot of blu-rays which i wanted to rip....can anyone help with a cost effective way of putting together a blu-ray drive? thanks......

Thanks, i don't have a PC and was looking for an external USB drive....still looking for a good one. The good ones cost a lot >10K...i was wondering if I can get an internal drive and put a case (SATA to USB) for it...has anyone did this?

i suggest get a A region player from usa/singapore.etc, the bluray discs sold in india are multiregion, so no need for region C and in amazon usa. you get discs as low as 6$ per piece
pc- bluray drive combination is a lot of hassle.and probably wont match the quality of a standalone player

hey sorry for not being clear in my post...i have US PS3 slim to play blu ray movies but i'm looking for a option to rip my blu ray collection to play in popcorn hour...since I don't have a PC i'm looking for an external blu ray reader/writer for ripping movies with laptop...but the USB ones are very expensive and least expensive once are not reliable and have bad reviews....hence i was checking if anyone bought a SATA drive and built a case for it with a USB connection....

Theoretically what you said is possible. You can buy an internal blu-ray drive and use a 3.5" sata enclosure to make it external.
