How is the LCD/LED from LLOYD? any one using this brand? what is your opinion about its Services and performances?

why take ur chances with Lloyd or videocon?....If it's ur own tv, which u would personally view daily & like to cherish for sometime(& not buying for somebody else/gift),get a sony/sammy/lg/panny... & if u r short of fund, get the same from the local grey mkt.,from a good dealer whom u have confidence upon & offers some kind of warranty! It's ur money afterall!.

makes sense, i bought my tv from the grey market for 38k which was/is 53k in the showrooms, and its working fine :clapping: so instead of going for a brand like lloyd go for a good brand from grey, but ofcourse u need to have confidence ;),
if u r in bangalore u can go to a shop in sukh sagar market ( besides national market) i can give u the shop reference if u decide to buy from him....
cheers
Arun

I agree with most of the below comments but surprisingly lloyd ACs in our 2nd n 3rd bedrooms are working perfectly for almost two years. I feel it's better than regular korean/japenese brands.

Still if it's for primary purpose don't take chances and stick to main brands.

Pl be sure of the service arrangements ,warranty conditions before taking a decision to buy expensive gadgets from new entrants......old is still gold

Lloyd seems to be on a marketing blitz. I think they had an ad running on TV too. Many retailers in Pune are now offering Lloyd.

I guess a lot will depend on which LCD panel Lloyd is using.

Coming to brand choice, moved away from the beaten track of Sony/ Samsung/ LG/ Panasonic and went in for a Toshiba LED. There was no reference/user review on our forum nor on the www (atleast ehen I searched). However, I made a choice after seeing the set along side sets with similar specifications of the other brands that I mentioned. I did not see a perceptible difference in PQ etc.

I'd endorse Umesh's views on service support and warranty. Go in for a minimum 3 year warranty for new brands.

Rgds, Arun

TV market is like Car market. In both there are better or comparable model / brands available. But the fall on the way side for issues on after sales, proper marketing, neglect by sales men etc. Availability of service and support by salesmen, particularly in multi brand showrooms is very important. In for the past few weeks, I observed that sales men on most of the showrooms tries to push you to high end LEDs of sony and LG(3D).

So if you are satisfied with the price, pic quality and availability of service, you can go for a Lloyd, Haeir, etc. After all somebody is buying these sets.

I agree with Arun, there are many lesser known brands in the market like Vu, Moser Baer, Lloyd etc. which might be using panels sourced from LG Display or Samsung or even some unknown Taiwanese company. One of my friends is using a Moser Baer 32" LCD which he got for fraction of the price of a samsung/LG/sony with similar specs and is quite happy with it.

Point is - lot of these products offer value for money and makes sense if you are on a tight budget. Also, none of the online experts review these brands (at least I couldn't find any) so its quite tough to know the experts view on their performance, but that doesn't mean they are bad.

Best bet is to visit a big store like croma, vijay sales, ezone and the likes and compare different brands side by side for their PQ. If you find it acceptable, go for it.

As far as service is concerned, TVs are not like cars or bikes that will need servicing every 5000 km. You will need it only if there are problems coming up every once in a while, which is quite unlikely- otherwise these brands would have disappeared long back and no dealer would've stocked them.!

No intentions to promote (or degrade) any brand. Just showing other side of the coin.:indifferent14:
