I am looking to buy a tv (in a month or so) for 25k budget of 32 inches

1. Will this tv TOSHIBA 32PU200 give good pq compared to samsung and sony?
2. How is the after sales of toshiba when compared to samsung and sony?
3. Is 1366x768 enough for 32 inches tv or full-hd is required.

Toshiba is definetly inferior to some of the best TVs of Sony and Samsung w.r.t PQ. I have seen them.
But I doubt any sony/samsung TVs with good PQ can be obtained with the budget.
If you are serious about PQ, then you may need to upp the budget.

Is sony32ex650 a good tv?

Well, if you are ready budget allocation-wise, this set should be awesome.
The caveat is that the wifi is not integrated into the TV but has to be bought separately.
Also you can safely never worry about PQ with this set as it might stand among the best of sony lineup.

Dirac: Have you really compared PU200 to sony TV? The reason, I ask is, recently, for a friend, we demoes PU200 and Sony EX series side by side with our own content and calibration disk, and we found Toshiba better and natural. I dont know about other models, but PU200 was really good.

PU200 is direct LED TV unlike other.

Sorry. I have never seen this specific model. I was looking at a few models of toshiba in a local Mall.

Going by your hands-on tests, it appears now for me that this model should be good. I would be very pleased if I can find this model and do a side by side comparision with the established brands.

Thanks.

I recently purchased Toshiba 32PU200. I was looking to buy a 32inch lcd initially, but was disheartened due to the lack of models availability at showrooms. In the LED range I had narrowed down to Toshiba pu200(25k on flipkart). I personally love PQ of sony, but they surely are overpriced. Before purchasing i compared the PQ of toshiba with Sony lcd(sony bx350), samsung(4000 series), philips and lg (led) in the same budget range. My personal observation was :

1) Sony has the most accurate colors. PQ and details pop out among all other sets. Sound is crisp and clear. Downfall of this being that it could not play my 1TB HD(Fat formated)
2) Samsung was oversaturated. Colors looked too bright. I tried different callibrations but some how the colors seemed to blow. Most sales folks were hell bent on selling me samsung models, but I had my concerns for the post warranty reliability.
3) Philips were available in few. A couple of models had very good PQ. I felt that the colors were natural and accurate. Sound though was unimpressive. Shrill & unclear at high volumes.
4) LG was truly a mystery. While some models had excellent PQ other models had a washed out and dull feel to the picture. So much difference between models was something i did not expect.
5) Now coming to Toshiba. I looked only at the power led series. Namely PB200,Pu200 and PS20. I was astonished at how good the picture quality was. I knew that Toshiba Regza are good, but given my budget it was refreshing to see that quality wasn't compromised. The colors were natural, accurate, picture sharp, and contrast was just the right amount. The TV looked best when set to standard or autoview, while under Dynamic the white tended to wash out the colors. However, the crown of the Jewel was the sound. Front facing grills gave a crisp and clear voice. The dynamic sound control works well too. Comparing sideways to Sony LCD(Bx350), I could not make out any difference in PQ. But Toshiba led had the edge, being brighter(being LED), better sound, and better format support(played everything but flv). I then even compared it to the Sony EX series. And although the details were finer on the Sony, they were only noticable when straining eyes. And infact the Toshiba PS20 series was comparable in every sense. Finally made my purchase(32pu200) and I am a happy user.

If you need a side by side comparison, i recommend vijay sales.

I am in the market for a budget 40 inch LED TV for my Living room. I already have a Samsung 32 inch LED TV bought in 2010. I was interested in the TOSHIBA Thinking LED 40 PU200 which is available for quite a steal. Also confused between PU200 and PS200. Any suggestions?

I found the quality on the PS200 much better than PU200. PS200 is an edge-lit TV, PU200 being direct-led. My experience was on the 32 inch, which were both hd-ready so cant really say about the 40 inch, but should hold true as well. If budget is not a constraint I would suggest PS200.
Also, there are two toshiba models by the name PS20 and PS200. Both differently priced but pretty much same other wise. I came across this when looking to buy, and this left me thoroughly confused. Even while comparing I only knew it to be a PS model but didn't know the number. Be careful when making purchase, specially online.

Also i think PS20 and PS200 are powered by different picture engines, REGZA AND POWER META BRAIN respectively!

no doubt, toshiba is comparable to sony at the entry level being discussed here. I myself have seen upto 40 inch side by side with sony many times during purchase for my friends.
shopclues has better offers for toshiba all the times, members may pl check before buying...

Good point about the different picture engines. But as I pointed out earlier PS20 & PS200 are two different models.

The PS20 model claims a Power meta engine. Not sure what it is & could be just a new marketing term for regza.

Coming to direct led, its main advantage is uniform lighting, which is provided by local dimming of led's. This feature however is not present in entry level direct-led TV(pretty sure its not there in PU200, but check.). My opinion was completely based on the experience in the showroom, where PS200 seemed much sharper. But can't comment on why that would be so.
