hi,

just got polk csi a 6 centre channel which is a huge one. it is 13KG. I am looking to wall mount it but it comes with some rear projection kickstand which can be used when attached to the TV. i am looking for a alternate solution to mount in wall..please provide your suggestions

I remember that once I had a similar situation where I needed to wall mount the same center channel above my screen, for this I got a stand fabricated out of Iron Angles, it was a "L" shaped stand with the speaker holding part at 135 degrees as I had to get the throw directly at the audience. The stand measured the entire length and depth of the speaker where I had left 2" extra space behind for the connections. Now to protect the speaker from falling I had an angle used in the front to hold the speaker from falling down, and it balanced itself with its own weight. Also remember to fix a support between the wall side of the stand and the front side such that it doesn't move due to the vibrations as well as for the added support. Use fastners to mount the stand to the wall.

Since a picture speaks a thousand words so I drew a rough sketch to explain. I hope this helps.

i have a rack below the TV that does the job but i fabricated a wooden block the size of the center speaker dimension and placed the speaker above the block ( but below the TV ). Now all 3 tweeters ( 2 fronts + 1 center ) are at ear level at seating position. Crazy idea this.. but i did it for kicks..

BTW.. ashish's idea is good.. but just google for center speaker stands on google god ( for images ) and you should get some ideas..
