How to setup Internet Connection n how to Record video in USB or HDD

Hi Guys 2days ago i got my Brand New LW5700 just love dis TV especially its 3D feature ,i Hav 1 query regarding Internet Connection n Recording from tv

1)How to setup Internet Connection in Wired Method.

I hav Wired network setup at my home which kinda Dialup(which need user id n password) for connecting the internet set on PPPOE method on PC,I hav Dynamic IP, i just wanna ask how to connect internet if i connect it to my TV, whenever i connect it to tv it scan for connection, it show checked mark at IP, but fails to set Gateway n Subnet Mask. I asked my ISP he told me i hav request for Static IP which will cost me n its expensive!! I dont Wanna buy Wifi Router too

Anybody hav solution regarding this??How much it will cost me for Wifi Router???

You can try 'always on' mode in your modem where you set the userid and password in the modem instead of a dial up connection from pc. Now your tv will automatically recognize the network. But if you want to use dial up connection from pc, then you need to share the dial up connection, set ip address and subnet mask manually in both tv and pc. In your pc, open the dialup window>click properties> Networking> click Internet Protocol Version 4 > Properties > Use the following ip address. for example ip 192.168.2.1 and subnet mask 255.255.255.0. Similarly in your tv also set the ip address to 192.168.2.2 and subnet mask same 255.255.255.0.

better go for a wireless router. Connect the internet cable to internet port & in wireless router setup the ppoe settings.

Configure the LAN of the router & set ip address with dhcp enable.

connect your pc/laptop & TV to the LAN ports of the wireless router. Your mobile/tablet can also connect it wirelessly. This way you don't need to on your pc for internet as it will go via router.

Actually i dnt hav any Modem i got Cable frm a Switch which is at terrace of my appartment n my internet is Dynamic IP 1 Can u give me solution??

What kind of wired connection you have, shead some more light on this, just because it has UN and Pass does not mean its like dial up. Even broad band works on UN and Pass over PPPoE. Its just that your ISP sets it up in your modem settings and so you dont have to enter it within windows.

Whats ur procedure .... if you have created a network connection on windows which takes UN and Pass, ur TV wont connect on the same connection.

Which modem, you have, who is ur ISP .... need few details before we can go further.

Also its always better to have a router if you gonna have multiple connections. Router is not expensive. a basic b/g Linksys router will come for around 1000-1500 bucks. If you are not inclined to have Wifi, get a switch atleast instead. Itd just like a routed only its not wifi.

1) Im connecting my net on pc using DSL or Cable which is set on PPPoE, this is how i had setup n created a dialer in which UN n P/W is given

3)Actually im living in a 3 storey building in which my room is at 1st floor n Switch is at 3rd floor through which a cable has came in my home which is connected to my pc, i can extend dat n connect it to TV but wen i connect in TV, it Scan for IP which is Auto. detects but prb in Gateway it show me Error "Failed to connect the n/w, Check if DHCP is set in gateway, if DHCP is not set,Set IP Manually."
I did setting the IP Manually but got the Same Error.

I contacted my ISP so he told me that is hav to buy DSL router n hav to configure my connection on dat so i can use it by connecting to TV.

if you don't want to buy wifi router then you must have 2 ethernet interfaces or lan card in your pc. one will be connected with internet & other with your tv.
1st interface: cable from your isp connected to this interface. Create a ppoe dialer.
2nd interface: assign ip as 192.168.0.1 & to your tv 192.168.0.2 (do not assign gateway here). Connect a cross cable from your tv to pc's 2nd ethernet interface. In your tv, set gateway as 192.168.0.1 & dns servers provided by your isp

Then you can configure internet sharing on the internet ethernet interface. If you are likely to do this, i can give you detailed step by step setup info

Or if you have onboard wifi access point in your desktop (advanced boards have) which is most like not if you havent got a advanced mother board. If you have then your tv must aslo have wifi..this way tv will connect to pc's wifi access point & internet sharing can be configured within the network drivers utility. again can give detailed setup info about this if you have

If you can configure ppoe in tv, better connect the internet cable directly to tv

I personally don't like any of the above option & always prefer a wifi router. I hate setting up pc as a gateway

Splitter will not work...you have to buy new lan card & yes you need to on your computer in order to provide internet to your tv....better invest more & get cheap wifi router ...you can get it max cheapest upto 1000 rs (new condition) or for more cheaper price, you can go for used ones which are also available in ebay

TY bro a lot will go for wi-fi now actually my ISP me selling his old router too in 600rs if d new comes in 800 wil go for new!!

Splitter will not work...you have to buy new lan card & yes you need to on your computer in order to provide internet to your tv....better invest more & get cheap wifi router ...you can get it max cheapest upto 1000 rs (new condition) or for more cheaper price, you can go for used ones which are also available in ebay
