How to use HRT Microstreamer with Iphone 5S or Android phones

Dear fellow members

I want to use my HRT micro streamer USB DAC with Iphone 5S. I understand that there is a camera connection kit through which it can be played. I did not want to spend 2K in a wire so I bought a two way USB female and connected it via Iphones USB cable and Microstreamers USB cable but it did not worked. Same was the case with Samsung Note 3 neo and Tab

Did somebody use this with phones.

Is apples camera conncetion kit or lighting cable does any other thing apart from just transferring the data.

I will be grateful if somebody has hands on experience in this regard and can share how he get it worked.

These USB powered DACs require more power which the phones may not be able to provide. Did you check if it works if connected via a powered USB hub?

No. I didn't check via powered USB hub but reviews say HRT works with Iphone and Android phone because power requirement is less in this.

I could not find detailed information on it. In PC and laptop HRT configures itself automatically but my phone is unable to recognize it.

I had a iPhone 4 last year which did not work with my ODAC using a camera connection kit. But when used with the powered USB hub it worked flawlessly and most of the reviews also say that you need a powered hub. Actually whenever I used to connect the ODAC there was a message on my iPhone that power is not sufficient or something like that which disappeared after using a powered USB hub.

I used the HRT streamer 2 with the original cck and powered hub. It worked on ipad but not on iPod touch.

In my case it does not even recognize nor it gives any error message so I don't even know if it is connecting or not. Regarding use of power I am pretty sure that with new firmware HRT (already updated) draws very less power so it should work.

I used MX USB female to female connector that should not be bad. My understanding was all I need to do is just connect the Phone to HRT.

I preferred HRT over Meridian just because of this additional feature.
