How to use Onkyo 3400 for Karaoke

Dear Friends;

I have been using Onkyo HTS 3400 along with LCD, DVD Player and DTH successfully.

Of late I have got active with my singing hobby for which I need Karaoke system.

1. How can I do mixing using a mic-in and dvd player karaoke track
2. How can I play the music from my mobile or laptop through home theater system.
3. My laptop is not having HDMI support.

Please advise what kind of cables to be bought and adjustments/setting to be made with home theater

Hi ,

For connecting a Microphone you would need to connect the MIC to a separate sound Mixture ( Buy a cheap one from lamington road ) alternatively if your DVD player has a MIC IN connect the MIC to DVD Player .
Now to connect the DVD Player to ONKYO you need to connect it via a ANALOG ( 2 RCA ) to ONKYO for MIC . Remember connecting ANALOG is required for MIC even if you would have connected a HDMI /OPTICAL or COAXIAL to from DVD PLAYER to ONKYO

To play the Phone MUSIC to from Onkyo, you need a 3.5mm jack to 2RCA TYPE wire .

Since your Laptop does not have a HDMI out , you cannot connect the LAPTOP to the Amplifier Digitally , you can still use a 3.5mm to 2RCA wire ( from laptop headphone out to onkyo Input )
