I am almost decided that i will get my much awaited HT with in next two months after 3-4 years delay...:o

Wanted to know if there any competitor to Yamaha -YHT-299 with in this price range and don't wanted stretch my budget beyond this .

If you are looking into that price range for a HTIB, you may also want to demo onkyo 9300 which is 7.1 (minus 4k pass through - unless you have a 4K TV!). THX certified 7.1.
Do check it.

How much it cost ? My Budget is 40K only...

Looking to buy separates or as a package. AS a package you can also check the Pioneer RS-33
Shop for Pioneer HTP-RS33 Satellite Speakers Home Theatre System 200 W at Reliance Digital

Or Onkyo 4505

Shop for Onkyo HT-S4505 5.1 Bookshelf Speakers Home Theatre System 300 W at Reliance Digital

Also from Denon (not great for music)
Denon DHT 1312XP 5.1 Home Theater System from Denon | Home Theatre Systems | electronics-store | HomeShop18.com

If you are the buy now and upgrade later type don't buy the pioneer, go for Yamaha or Onkyo. All the small speakers have good AVR decks to which you can upgrade the speakers after a while.

eventually you will feel upgrdae itch..everyone does..
to be future proof..
start with an 25k avr and 15k bs pair..
add slowly centre,sub
and
rears(not needed for a long time imo)..

will be a good system..

good,go for Yamaha or Onkyo. All the small speakers have good AVR decks to which you can upgrade the speakers after a while. thanks

I think pioneer is good as the bass is huge and watching movies on it is a treat.....i hav onkyo 4505 and it heats up very fast.....and runs hot it damaged my optical cable:mad:.....

I too am facing the same quandry. Also have my eye on JBL Cinema BD300 which is around the same price, but has wifi/dlna inbuilt as an additional feature.

Do share what you decide

There is Denon X500 + Denon Sys 5.1 speakers package available at 37K. I heard it back to back with YHT 299 and felt both are at par when it comes to Movies. Denon had slight edge but Yahama sounds good for music as well.

Finaly after 12 years, i have ordered second hand Onkyo TX Sr 607 from ebay(Germany). I got it for a sweet deal-(46 Euro)so taken risk.I am coming back to india next month and have to buy two book shelf and a central channel. Please suggest me some cheap speakers to pair it with this .My budget would be arround Rs 15- 20000 K.

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
