I am a AR fan

I am a AR TT fan and not AR Rahman fan. I just added a AR XB Model to my collection. Those who are familiar with AR TT will know that it was designed by Villichur and many of the Models of Thorens ,Linn Sondek, Ariston and other suspended Turn Tables copied the AR design. I consider them at par with the best vintage TTs you can buy . What I like about them is that it is too simple in construction but delivers smooth flowing music many of the modern TTs cannot achieve. It has a unique uni-pivot tone arm without Anti-skating mechanism but has no need of it. It is so well designed that it has no skating tendency and the alignment and VTA are fixed but that does not prevent it from producing such wonderful music. I just received the player and needs some cosmetic improvements. I just love the sound which is warm but sharp . Something not delivered by most players. I am using a old Shure 97 cart and the Amp is a vintage Yamaha Receiver and AR 925 E speakers.

I have some lovely memories of listening to Nazia Hassan's Disco Deewane on an AR XA turntable at my father's friend's home (early 1980s). Personally, not a great fan of belt drives, but admire these legends.

I also have memories of listening to the said track played loud by our next-door neighbour when he's had some drinks in the evening when I was a pre-teen. I have been meaning to tease him about it when I meet him next I actually bought this album on LP because of that memory.

These TTs are not like the Japanese belt drives. These are so well designed with hardly any motor noise and so warm to listen to. They have suspended chassis which isolates it from rumble noise. I think you will change your opinion after you visit me.

It is 220v 50 Hz TT. I think there is aprovision or switch to change from 110v to 220 v because on the motor ,it shows 110 v

very nice tt,:clapping: i saw your record cleaning video,very useful one. which vacuum cleaner are you using?. I have an Eureka forbes VC, but confused how to remove moisture/water from the record? my VC is made for removing only dust not water.'
I recently added one more Dual 1229 TT, marantz 1060 and AR 2a speakers also Elac Fullrange speakers.

Dear Shafic,
You should get a Eureka Forbes or any other make wet& dry VC . If not, the VC can get damaged. Dual 1229 is one of the best of Duals and AR 2a is fantastic. I use KLHModel 5 and AR 925 e speakers.

If these suspended players had the torque of a Garrard 301, I think it would sound amazing. Real vinyl 'Nirvana'
