Viewing distance for my room is less...how less?
if Viewing distance is more than 2-3 ft,there is practically NOT much difference between HD(720p) & FHD(1080p)

Hi frnd, Indiglo explained correcty.
You will not notice the difference in tv viewing. Incase you want to use as comp monitor, then its advisable to get the full HD else its makes no sense.
Just check ur self inany mall side by side and proceed.!!!

Though there is no difference if you are using the monitor for TV / movie playback when using at a distance more than 2 metres however Full HD will help if you want to connect the display as a computer monitor too especially for visualizing text. I will vote for full HD.

For 32" I will suggest to for HD. You will not notice any difference between the two.

Yes i's back that up , 32" hd ready & fullhd wont be too different. So save the 6 to 7k.

My parents have a HD ready 32" Hitachi in their room and recently upgraded to Tata sky HD+. The difference in HD & SD reception is immense. Viewing distance is 12 feet. Connection to STB is via HDMI cable.

Hi
Go for fullHD
There is vast difference between both when you want to see fullHD movies/recordings.

If you are not planning to use it as a computer monitor and is on a tight budget go for HD ready. Cheap LED store brands are available in Kerala now at a price as low as RS.15K. ( I think a Thoshiba 32 inch LCD is avialble at 18K, please check, which is VFM.)

View different models at store that suite your budget. Select a model and seek opinion in this forum. That will be better.

The difference in quality you expeienced primarily because, the tata sky HD is using HDMI cable, which is digital, and the former connection may be RCA jacks which is analogue. Even if it is assumed that the pevious connection is a DTH, conversion of Digital -> Analogue -> Digital results in lose of quality.

Now the digital signal is directly passed to the TV without any processing.
