If manufacturer does not offer additional warranty what additional options do we have

Hi,

I am the one ranting about my conked 5 series 46 inch LCD.

I urgently need a 50 incher this weekend and only affordable choices are 50UT30 for 72K with one glass and Samsung 51E550. Samsung today officially confirmed they offer AMC only for LEDs.

I still want to buy the Samsung - but what are the alternatives in terms of coverage for anything going wrong?

Can I take a general insurance from GIC or any private insurers? if anyone has any experience please share..Thx

Croma and Reliance Digital stores offer extended warranty at a price. But do check even panel is covered under the extended warranty scheme.
