When my signal switches off the input being used remains on the screen. Anyway to not have that linger/show?

For example, lets say my kids are watching a DVD that is connected to HDMI1. After the movie the switch off the DVD player or it goes to sleep but forget to switch off the TV. The input source stays displayed. Anyone else experience this?

Do you mean the input name is displayed on the tv? In my Panny LCD I press the recall button to show or hide input name.

Yes - top left corner. But what if I'm not there to push the Recall button? It doesn't seem to go away. Noticed it a few days ago when was playing something that finished. I went away for about 15 minutes and it was still there.

In my TV it is not displayed again until I press recall.

I am not familiar with this model, but you can always use off timer to shut down for any Tv. Say 2 hrs. There can be Auto shut down facility as well when signal not detected, Will save power too.

Yesterday, I was checking the auto shutdown features. I found that there is timer facility. But I believe that timer will shut off TV after time out - irrespective whether signal or no signal. I am still investigating. I am looking at a feature that will put the TV to standby mode in, say 10 mins, when there is no signal.

If anyone has this info, please post. Thanks in advance.

OK. Found something. Will try this in the evening:

Menu --> Setup --> ECO/Energy Saving

No Signal for 10 mins: Settings: Stay On or Power Off

Thanks for confirming that I couldn't find it either. Somehow, I've set a standing timer that switches off the set if it doesn't receive any inputs. Not sure how i did it but it sort of solves the problem. But not exactly.

Just yesterday, I was watching a video podcast and then got distracted by the kids or dog. The show must have finished at least :30 prior to my return and the screen was proudly showing my 'HDMI1' input in the top left.
