After discovering that the only 70mm/15perf IMAX theater in India is in Hyderabad, I didn't feel so great about watching Intertstellar in regular 35m IMAX in Wadala, but I did watch it there anyway. It was a good experience. At least, it was the best experience you can hope for within Mumbai.
I read up about how IMAX Digital is basically 2x2K projection for an effective 4K screen, so I'm wondering if an actual 4K projection at a theater like Globus in Bandra is better. Globus in Bandra has had a Sony 4K screen for quite some time, but do they have the 4K print of Interstellar or just the regular 2K? I'm going to watch the movie again at Globus this week, but I just wanted to know beforehand.
Interstellar is quite alright. I thought the visuals and sound were great, but the story was weak and dialogue was almost dumb. It looks and feels great, but it doesn't offer that 'rewarding' feeling that you get at the end of most other Nolan movies. But I love space and the black holes and things look great in the movie, so I don't mind watching it a few more times.
