Anyone looking at an iphone should look at buying it from Verizon as they are selling unlocked versions of it in the US and they dont have plans of relocking them.

The Verizon plan is for 625 USD which is 35k INR. Since its an unlocked version, one shouldnt have to pay the monthly charges and just switch to a different provider.
