Guys,

I had a chance to dock my ipod in a small dock radio (ihome) and was surprised at the quality of sound. I started considering buying one of this since I was getting outvoted by my family for the TV. My chance of listening to my audio setup (marantz 7001 + cd 6003 with floor standing speakers) was getting getting thinner when I considered buying a good CD player + ipod dock + FM radio.

I looked around and found the Edifier if360 really nice. Sound is just right for my bedroom. The unit is quite compact and has quite a lot of connections. CD, SD, USB, Ipod dock, Aux. Speaker works on the "Nautilus" principle and the looks compete with the Bose wave radio.

Although slightly expensive its sound is quite nice. The down thing is that we cannot put the unit on a standby state., This ruins the chance of using this as an alarm clock (the unit has this feature).

Am currently enjoying this.

its available for 12.5 K in Bangalore - SJP road. Edifier model is not stocked in E zone, or croma surprisingly. Note that the model is first gen without the "standby" button - its a shame since I really miss this feature. The european and US models have this feature + also DAB which the indian version lacks.

Nope no battery provision. I cannot say it is designed to be portable though - no handles and the plastic is very very sensitive to scratches as it has a high gloss. So if you are considering this for a picnic then it is not upto it.
