iPod on Samsung 43D490?

How can we play the iPod on the Samsung plasma 43D490? The tried and tested way is through the AV input. But can we do the same via the USB. I tried the same on my TV with 2 iPods. Results

1. The ipod nano started charging immediately but did not show up as a device.

2. The iPod Touch went a step further as it was recognized by the TV and was charging. However, only the photos showed up on the TV. The music was not recognized.

The Samsung installation guy claimed that the TV had iPod support but at that time I did not have the player handy to check out. Has anyone successfully played music off an iPod via the USB port on the TV?

Can possible with audio video cable or wirelessly with Apple TV mirroring , pl google more info on apple web sites .

I have done with audio video cable. This was always possible and not what I am looking for.

I want to play the music of the iPod via the TV remote. For that I need to connect thru USB.

Apple TV and other such solutions are there and they work with any TV. I am specifically looking whether the Samsung can play music off an iPod and if so which models.

then the music will be controlled with the iPod. I want to select the songs on the TV display. I should be able to change songs without using the ipod at all.

Ragav....i understand you wanted the iPod should be detected as HDD to browse contents from your TV set........

i have the same model....when i checked myself with my iphone...it detected as iphone.....and it was capable of charging, though not able to browse pix ........
what i can see its Apple restriction....... i am yet to check with Ipod models though!
