Will a TCL 85 or Vu 85 give the senior citizens above 75 years of age a good viewing experience from 12 feet distance?

I think in general bigger is better for senior citizens, but for 12 feet, 75 inch should be good enough. I think content lower than 4k will look pixelated on large screens.

^^thanks for the response. At the maximum point the distance becomes even 17-18 feet at the dining table. Plus max budget for about 2 lakhs I am considering either a 75" from the big three or 85 " TCL option. TCL has 450 nits peak brightness - enough for senior citizens I feel. Samsung I am not going to consider as they are sunlight bright - my father will have a strain watching such content.

Depends on the content being watched..
If low quality content is a like certain news channels then a huge screen will be a drawback.
75" from samsung is a good idea..

85 inch will be a monster and hard to wall mount in anything but hard concrete. Will not work on wooden tv cabinet, panels etc.

Also will be a menace when something is wrong and for general transportation to and from service center etc.

Generally >65" are enthusiast tvs and need quite some tinckering/caliberation etc and involves multiple and often continued work to get it right.

65" should be good enough or max 75. 85 inch only if you or any enthusiast stays with the them.

I stay with them. I already have a 65 bought June 2016. From 65 to 75 I don't find it that exciting. 85 was the target. I want them to be in daze with the Tv size and especially some sports entertainment like tennis or cricket or football.

Get the 85 incher, the distance from dining table is 18 feet and smaller TV's will look too small at that distance.

Also, Parents are more wowed with huge tv size then things like HDR, black levels etc.

I recall that one of my grand mothers was super content & happy watching her favorite tele serials & movies on a 21-inch screen until last year or so in her hometown. She had her favorite chair & position where she used to sit & watch. In case, she felt fatigue or had niggles on a particular day, she used to move a tad behind her usual position & suit herself. She had a good eye sight and that mattered a lot.

I recall that another grand mother of mine didn't use to give a damn about any of the latest content too. If given a chance, she would have destroyed the TV with my cricket bat.

Just have a word with the senior citizens who are above 75 yrs of age, about their preferences & how they could/would enjoy watching TV if they do. Based on their inputs, you could consider going for any of your chosen brand and size, depending on your research or suggestions or totally not consider going for.

Not sure about the specific brands, but if positioned correctly at a proper viewing angle and height – the center of the screen at seated viewer's eye level – the screen size shouldn't be a problem.

I have booked sony 8000h with two years extended warranty plus a Sony headphone for Rs.2.25 L. I volunteered for the 14k worth extended warranty as it is a large screen repair costs can be as much as a TV's cost post warranty.

Hi all, the Sony 8000 h I recently bought is installed and wall mounted. However my father feels a bit of photo sensitivity. I was wondering how I caliberate or tweak the settings for his sake. Also are there some recommended sunglasses for this purpose? Thanks in advance and wish you all in advance a happy diwali.

Purchase the Audiolab 6000A Integrated Amplifier at a special offer price.
