Is there any better choice than Sony BDV E490?

Need your help in rescuing my friend from buying Sony BDV E490 (or similar E290/E3100 etc) Home Theater In Box.

His Budget: 20K (may be stretchable till 25K, but not sure)
His Requirement: Will connect with his TV and Play from different source (Either DTH or BD or PC or USB)

Is BDV E490 a good choice or is there any other alternative within 20K?

Open to av receiver+spks setup, but i don't think so it is possible in this stringent budget... PLZ HELP!

Considering budget constraint, I think Yamaha 196 should do the needful.
Its around 23,500/-..However other factors to be considered are room size, usage movies / music... etc. Like many other FM would suggest here .. he may start with first AVR + 2 speakers and then add Center / surround as and when feasible.

Second that, YAMAHA YHT 196 any time than Sony. Take him to a demo, let him hear a Sony and Yamaha, that should do the trick.

Even the least expensive avr+spk combo will cost around 60K. For which I'd rather suggest my friend to get Pioneer SP-PK22BS + Pioneer VSX-522-K (54K)

Consider a pre-owned AVR and SPKs.... check out OLX or For sell by owners option..
