i think surgical spirit is IPA. its the stuff they apply on your arm before givng an injection.
I too curious about blue color, the IPA I use is transparent.
Maybe nice for cleaning "Blues" records..

Surgical spirit is not isopropyl alcohol. They are two different things. IPA is safe and does not melt things. It is absolutely clear and is available in scientific stores. The famous one being Vasa Scientific Co. These days they need a letter from the company authorizing purchase of IPA or Acetone. They refused to sell me.
Be careful in not buying other chemicals being peddled off as IPA in SP Road etc and can melt your plastic and vinyl stuff.
