Hi all,
It was an ebay international order. On 28th May order was given, payment made through paypal. But item was not received till 12 pm today (7th July), now it was 39th day and paypal dispute claim period limit is 45 days. Thought, I have waited enough, So opened a dispute case for not receiving the item at 12.05 pm (In the meantime I had emailed the seller several times within last 2 weeks for not receiving the item). The seller refund my amount immediately within 30 minutes (at about 12.30pm) of opening the paypal dispute case. Believe me or not I received my item just on 1.15 pm. Now, as paypal already closed my case as it was resolved with refund, how should I send the amount back to the seller? Can I request the paypal to open the case and resend the amount to seller? As far as I know paypal might not open the case once it get closed. What is your suggestion? I know the tempting part, but I really want to send the amount back to the seller. Also I want to mention the pathetic service offered by Govt.postal dept. which took 39 days to make a delivery and that is the only reason behind this strange situation.

Best regards

Yes you can re-open the case. Discuss the issue with an ebay agent and get that money to the seller. Out of curiosity may I know the item that you were pruchasing which got stuck in the Govt postal Dept... because I am facing a similar issue.

Item was headphone plug & cables related tweaks for 'Etymotic Research ER4P'

Good on you mate. Very ethical :).

You could also just resend the money back to the seller directly via paypal - without involving ebay. All you need is the seller's email address.

I have sent messages through ebay to the seller explaining everything and also asked about email address which is registered to his paypal account.

Ok, the seller gave me his email address for paypal and I have transferred the amount. Deal finished. So, I have learned to keep patience  at least for 6 weeks for International Air Postal Delivery.

This has happened with me couple of times and the seller honestly refunded saying do send the payment again if you get the item. I have always returned the refunded the money. This creates a reputation for our country men who are known to outside world for lesser in moral values , one of the reason apart from postal delays that many eBay sellers don't ship to India

You just hit right on spot, I was worried more about the reputation of our country rather than as a person. I am glad we share same point of view.
