Jagged picture issues

Hi,

I've had a new HTPC put together and all is working well apart from a single annoying problem: every time there is a scene with some fast motion, I am seeing jagged horizontal lines across the middle of the screen which distorts the image. This happens regardless of player or quality or type of file and is not a TV or AVR issue either as it doesn't happen with Tata Sky.

I'm uncertain if this is what is called judder. But it's really annoying. How do I go about diagnosing this?

I think you are facing de-interlacing problems. search more on de-interlacing and ascertain that it is the problem that you are facing.
