Jio Hotstar app

Has anyone got initial feedback using the Jio Hotstar app? As a subscriber of both, i guess its a good thing long term in reducing the number of OTT to subscribe but i'm seeing the following issues:

1. while i get redirected to the JH app when i try and play something on Jio Cinema, the JH app doesnt seem to have any track of what i used to watch on Jio Cinema.
2. the Jio Cinema content on JH including the 'premium' stuff is still only 2 channel sound.

Have i missed configuring something on the app?

Hi,

Initially when the migration happened, it showed some weird login. I have a separate id for Jio Cinema and separate for Disney Hotstar.

I use a Firestick connected to the AVR and HD TV. So did fresh log Jio Hotstar app with my Disney Hotstart credentials and it works and is valid till the subscription ends.

Jio Cinema is as is.

Lets see what bundled plan is being offered in April 2025, that's when my Disney Hotstar subscription ends.

As far as Audio is concerned, certain movies only are in Atmos ( Avatar) and others are in DD (5.1) rest content is 2.0

it still goes further, few episodes in a series are in 5.1 while few in 2.0

That really sounds crazy!! Is that something that was was originally on JC or DHST?

After a few more days playing with it, I've come to the conclusion that the actual content quality from JioC hasn't changed , its just hiding behind a new interface in the new app. And if i want to continue on where i left off on something last seen on JioC app, you have to open that and play, and let it redirect you to the new app. After watching it for a while (or an episode), the new JH app saves your last played position. Unfortunately this needs to be done seperately for each show that you are currently watching! Frustrating but at least i have a solution now.
