There are many karaoke clubs in communities and cities which attract a large number of people. These communities reflect the deep love of music in our society.
Some even run their Youtube channels.
I think of karaoke as a active listening. Many times I get new insights into my favorite song , when I attempt to sing it, which I couldn't just by listening on my sort of - lower mid-range setup. For example, it is incredible how good A.R. Rahman sings . IMHO he is possibly the most under rated singer of our country. Any one in doubt should try out few of his songs on karaoke.
I would also argue there should be separate section on hifivision to talk about Karaoke setups.
There is quite a number of ways to setup and there is a always a trade off between simplicity and exactness.
Also there are good and pro ways of recording too.
