Hi everyone, can anybody suggest me a laptop with good battery backup, it should be window, requires mainly for study purpose. Budget is 30-35k. I want best value for my money. Thanks

But it doesn't have windows installed, please suggest some which is light weighted and good battery backup, 14" screen will be ok, as it has to be carried to college everyday by my wife

You should seriously consider the new generation of laptops and tablet convertibles that have just been announced.

I say this because the next 6-18 months in the laptop space will all be about ultraportable laptops. Most will be fanless designs, will be very lightweight, and many will be priced in the $200-$500 range instead of the $1k+ range that would previously get you an ultrabook.

Here's at least one model that is now available: HP Streambook 14.

If you can wait a few months, the wait for Intel's Core M might be worth it. It will shake up the laptop and tablet market like nothing else.

But in the meantime, AMD A4 and Intel Baytrail based laptops might be good enough performance for you. But it all depends on your usage. When you say study purpose, what do you mean? General browsing and document editing? Or more heavyweight stuff like programming, image editing, etc?

Hi, asliarun, sorry I've seen your reply just today, It requires just document editing and browsing ect. Can't wait, I've to buy today or tomorrow, don't want to spend again so want a good this time. What you suggest in my budget?

If its only document editing and browsing then a tablet will do. Check out Microsoft Surface Pro 3. I like it, the stylus makes it easier to use than a keypad/keyboard. Also, MS Office functionality makes it a winner compared to Apple and Android... but if there is internet connectivity or 3G then using Google Docs is the way to go, in which case even a phablet can be used. I personally use an Android mobile with a dictation app though the default Google Swype keyboard is good for basic content typing.

For lots of typing or work then I definitely recommend at least checking out the new Surface Pro 3, its by far the best tablet I've seen and used compared to both Android and Apple tablets that I have used.
