It was a long break after my last review.
This time the witch hunt was to find the best led TV within 50 inch. I was new to Dubai when I started the process and it took almost 1.5 month to find the Thor in overcrowded market.
Here goes LG 47LB6520..
I was fed up with the boosted colours and eye straining brightness of Sonys and Samsungs yet I decided to be fair when choosing the best hyeah:. I compared the following parameters:
Display Quality
Interface
Media playing capability
Quality
Connectivity
Smart features
3D
The OS or WEBOS:
A fresh approach, rather more simple & indulging.. browsing within TV was never so easy with other brands.. what a brilliant interface !! though it has slight lag during start up, once its on, everything else is history. its fluid, very responsive and looks gorgeous. The app store & web browser are bit laid down with limited/no good apps.
Connectivity:
This TV comes with all majority features including NFC, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, 3 HDMI outputs, camera & gesture support etc, so options are plenty. The Wi-Fi direct enables you to play the content wirelessly even if you dont have internet. Magic eye remote works like charm with amazing response.
Nevertheless, it plays 40 GB files from my 2TB Hard Disk in no time.
Display:
Indeed.. this was one among the best display Ive ever seen in 47 size.. The IPS panel is simply jaw dropping. The skin tones, color reproduction and accuracy, brightness etc are marvellous. With 600 HZ refresh rate, you will forget that you are watching movie at your home. The brightness, contrast and backlit are just appropriate that it will never give you any eyestrain even after watching for 6+ hours. I cant find a better word to describe the quality of the panel except Outstanding. Samsung, Sonys etc are full of oversaturated colors with boosted brightness. The only problem I faced with this panel was the black level which can be tamed if you tune it manually. The 3d is so realistic than its competitor, but you will find some horizontal lines if you get old glass with your tv.
Technical Features:
Display: 47 IPS panel
Refresh Rate: 600 HZ
Connectivity
HDMI Port 3
Optical/Coax: Yes
Inbuilt Camera: No
I dint find any reason not to own this beast, so I did and now enjoying every bit of it. It was a visual treat for INR 53K, worth trying.
