LG has quietly introduced the 27G850A, a 27-inch gaming monitor claiming multiple industry firsts, including a 4K (3840 x 2160) resolution and 240Hz refresh rate on an IPS Black panel. Initially spotted on LG’s Japan and Hong Kong websites, the monitor is now listed in Europe with a March launch slated at €799.
The monitor supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, NVIDIA G-Sync Compatibility, and VESA AdaptiveSync for tear-free gaming. It boasts a 1ms GtG response time, 10-bit color depth, and 99% DCI-P3 coverage. Hardware-level calibration—a rarity in consumer monitors—ensures color accuracy. Its brightness reaches 450 nits (SDR) and peaks at 670 nits for HDR.
It uses LG Display’s Nano IPS Black technology, delivering a 2000:1 contrast ratio—double standard IPS panels. A dual-mode function allows users to switch between 4K/240Hz and 1080p/480Hz, with LG noting that the latter reduces the screen size to 24 inches.
