Just a few days ago, Lightening struck my cable TV wire ,My HD setup box (from the local wired cable, not the dish TV one)and LG 42 inch 3D TV,both damaged,TV was connnected via HDMI cable to setup box.Can anyone suggest,is there any lightening arrester for coax cable, which can be placed on the input of setupbox or at the HDMI cable input to TV,so as to prevent such occurrence in the future.

I'm afraid there isn't any. Best option is to remove the coaxial cable and power supply after use. No need to remove the hdmi cable. We have heavy lightning here in Kerala and I always disconnect the cables and power cord after use.

Belkin Ultimate series surge protector has inputs and outputs for cable - but not for HDMI though... check the prices in Amazon or Flipkart. They both sell it.

What if lightening strikes while you are watching TV?
I feel a solution must be possible that we are not aware of.
