I am looking to a buy a LG LED LM7600 or LM6700, both 47 inches. Can anyone please tell me the best price in the market for these models?

I have been quoted 112,000 for 6700 & 119,000 for 7600. Not sure if these prices are competitive? Purchase will be in Delhi/Noida.

With a difference of only 7,000, I am inclined to buy 7600..

Are you sure about the LM7600?

These are the dealer prices in Pune (all 47"):

LM7600: 1,29,000
LM6700 & LM6690: 1,19,000
LM6400: 1,07,000

The dealer said that he can do a deal (I was also looking to buy a front loading washing m/c quoted at 28,990). I thought that price is very expensive considering that LG factory is right here in Pune district (Ranjangaon). TVs are nice and all that and passive 3D glasses are so cheap (Rs. 1200 for a pair).

Pune has 5% octroi. Price in Delhi should be cheaper by at least 8%.

I was checking LG 47LM6400 (1.12 Lakh Official) in Pune. I was told price of 1.02 Lakh/99900 by some dealers. I checked online at Infibeam. Infibeam is selling at 94724. I took printout of this & asked one other delaer whether he can sell me TV at that price.
He said he can sell me at that(Infibeam) price. So I think you should ask your local dealer to give you price matching the Infibeam price.

Oh! I was just browsing and checking out. I am in no hurry right now.

But if you are in the hunt, we can look together. BTW, I would be inclined towards plasma.

I am currently just creating furniture in home. After that will go for TV. So it will take 2-3 months.

It will be Diwali time then. Could expect some discounts at that time.

However, I generally do not find great price differentiation during festival times. Usually, there is a "useless" offer such as free DTH-HD or a little more on the exchange price.

I tried the same with LG dealer for 42LM7600. the last price he quoted was 95K and nothing less... Infi quotes the same model @92682... I dont know why these are so high priced when 2011 models were sold at 85K last year?
Nobody here quotes for less than 1,00,000 for LM series... :(

LG LM models are overpriced for their performance. Look at the US prices and you will be shocked. 55" for less than 1L.

Ah! But you cannot compare US prices with India. In US, the electronic goods are very cheap - in fact cheapest in the world. In India, we have too many taxes and many of these are taxes on taxes. For example, and just to note a few:

a) Import duty on components and kits, panels, etc.
b) Excise Duty on imported cost + manufacturing cost
c) Special excise duty on some items
d) VAT
e) Octroi in some places on landed cost including all of the above + transport cost

Indirect costs include advertising, campaigns, etc.

Then there is manufacturer's margin, dealer margin, etc. Our government considers flat panels TVs and such items as luxury items (they do not say so) and levy large taxes.

You are right about prices but is it a trust worthy site to buy?

Anybody has brought from infibeam?

I read review of that site on mouthshut. They are not good.
But we can at least use as price reference point.:)

If they can afford to sell TV at those prices (Free Shipping), then other local vendor should be able to match it. If local vendors cant match & even if they charge 1000-2000 Rs extra, then also I am fine with it. But 5000-10000 more than that price is ridiculous.
