Will local DVDs (bought at burma bazaar, chennai) play in Denon or Cambrdige Audio (for ex: the blue ray player 650BD -universal player) play in such hi-fi systems ?

yup you can........even there is no harm to the lense.

Yes, the player can't figure out that you purchased the dvd from Burma Market hyeah:

The only problem you may face is region encoding. In that case look for hacks on the net.

I would take a few cds with me before buying to ensure they work.
