I want a TV for my small room. 24" is too small 32" is lil big.

Purpose:
75% normal TV programs
25% hdd/usb movies (720p)
No gaming
YouTube (if possible)

Which is the best TV between 24" & 32" ?
28" will be a convenient size I think. 29 also will be fine.
I want the best TV in this range.

I want to purchase a DTH also. Should I buy an SD DTH or HD DTH? Is an HD DTH worth for a TV in this range?

No replys?

Nobody is interested in small TVs?
Small Tvs has better ppi & hence better clarity.
I want to know if any VA or IPS panel Tvs available in 27, 28 or 29" size?
TN panels have viewing angle issue.

Hi

Based on your use and requirements, you should look at the Toshiba Cricket series P2305. There is a 29 inch available. Toshiba is backed with 3 years warranty (29 inch model onwards).

The key is to walk to an electronics store like Vijay Sales / Croma / Reliance Digital and see the different brands, models and do a side by side comparision.

See which models and brands appeals to you in performance, features and budget.

You can see related threads on HFV or click on my user name.

Hope this helps.

what type of panel does Toshiba Cricket series P2305 have? VA or TN?

Viewing distance is 6 - 8 feet.
I'm nt concerned about the budget, but i should get the benefit for what i spend.

Assuming you budget is a Max 35K... Also for a 8 feet distance 40 incher would be good bet....

You can consider Samsung 43F4100 & LG 42PN4500 Plasma models which will suit your needs... You can get these models a lil cheaper also, if you can enquire in near by shops...

Hello Naivart,

1) Please do not look for odd sizes like 28 inches etc. The reasoning is that in the future panel spares are difficult to get, given the odd size that you want. So standard sizes like say, 32, 40, 42, 46, 50 are safer bets even though panel spares for these are difficult too but odd sizes will make it extremely difficult.

2) In your scenario, I think a 40-42 incher would fit the bill assuming a 8 feet watching distance. One naturally "grows" into a larger size. I have never heard anyone complain of a larger size TV, there are only complaints of smaller ones!

3) A reliance HD DTH should be fine, but I checked out airtel digital at my uncle's house liked it too.

With the hope that this helps! :)

Samsung 43F4100 has a resolution of 852 x 480 :o :o That too for 43" size!!

8 feet is the maximum viewing distance. I'm currently using a 21" crt TV. I want to replace it. New TV will be using to watch regional SD channels like Asianet, manorama news etc. for most of the time. SD channels are horrible in big tvs at small viewing distances.

26" 16:9 LCD will have almost same height of my 21" 4:3 TV.

40-42 inch Full HD TV would be fine to watch 1080p videos at 8 feet viewing distance. But 720p videos won't be perfect at this viewing distance. You should increase the viewing distance or decrease the screen size. Think about watching SD channels in the same scenario. For me the maximum viewing distance possible is 8 feet.

I don't know why these companies are not giving importance to TVs below 32".

Ok. I will try it soon.
What are the major advantages/disadvantages of plasma over LCD?

Good.... Take also some Blue Ray Rips on your pendrive (or) movie downloads that you have juz to check how it is on the screen...

I wouldn't say disadvantage, but i would say minor gripe for plasma would be brightness... It isn't as bright as LED....Rest all of the categories, a plasma TV has advantages...

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
