Lost: The Complete Collection at US Amazon for just $99 but some Questions

At just $ 99 at its lowest selling price till date...Lost: The Complete Collection is undoubtedly a good deal for those owning a Region A or Region C player and cannot buy the UK Amazon Lost Complete Collection (bec of Region B locked Season 4)

However, though its a very tempting offer. My questions before taking the plunge are -

1. Has anyone previously ordered this complete collection from US Amazon. Did he/she face custom hassles? Considering it has 36 blu-ray discs and the entire box with all its goodies inside weighs a whopping 3.75 Kgs!!

2. How much was the customs duty paid?

3. Can someone here share his/her experience about this collection?

4. Should one buy these seasons separately instead?

I bought Lost complete series from Amazon UK, which is much cheaper with no shipping charges and no customs (in my case). Even though Season 4 is region locked I though I will rip this disc and save some thousands. But as I mentioned in another post I had another strange problem with UK version. For the first 3 seasons the menu language by default went to Japanese since my player is region A. US and Japan in region A. But I still feel 40 GBP is cheaper as I really don't want any extra goodies from US version.

This set is awesome as is the series....Its worth every penny you spend on this !!!

Well the price of Lost is now so high on UK (GBP 74) that its almost gonna cost me the same with US Amazon.....n nowadays m Mumbai Custom's favt Bakra...they r charging me 152 Rs. even fr a single blu-ray ( so the UK Amazon thing gonna cost biggg!!!
Interesting to know abt the Japanese menu! but why this Kolaveri by them fr us Region A player users :sad:
I m not into ripping n it watchg so that again is a downer fr me
Have kept my shipment hanging still in US Amazon at $ 99 plus thnx to debit card payment which makes Amazon keep re-asking me to revise the payment...n I get buffer time to get over my confusion!

I really don't know what kolaveri these ppl have against Region A players. In another forum someone told me since it was jointly launched for UK and Japan they kind of defaulted to Region A since Japan is region A. Anyways i was kind of fed up with this Jap menu issue and huge customs for blu ray from US I decided to buy a Region B player.

So ordered Panasonic DMP-BDT110EB Region B player from Amazon uk, came around 125GBP with customs and shipping. The reason I invested in this is , 99% I never get customs charged for stuff i get it from amazon.uk. Also most of the time its free delivery from amazon and we don't have to pay VAT so the disc price is less than what is listed in amazon while you checkout.

So I have decided not to buy any blu ray frm US , only frm UK

Waited for 2 black Fridays for price to drop which never dropped. When I see 99$ couldn't pass up and ordered it. Customs charged 700Rs.
Packaging from Amazon is top notch. Its huge and weighs over 9 Pounds.

Sorry guys was a little busy yesterday so cud not update abt my LOST:Complete Collection blu-ray box that arrived via AMAZON USA....It arrived via Express-it at my door step after usual delay of keeping it in their office despite arriving in Mumbai 4 days back n my amazon tracking showing out for delivery since then!

I was charged ZERO customs duty for this :yahoo: but express-it fellas charged me Rs. 1860/- as handling charges

Finally though it turned out to be a STEAL of a DEAL what with entire LOST on 36 blu-rays for just $ 99 + $ 17.00 (shipping via amazon) = $ 116

I am gonna write to amazon abt the express it handling unfair charges on me

@moviemaniac : Was out busy couple of weeks. Yes Pana is a good choice for region B player and its easy get mod for Pana if you are willing to pay the extra $$...
