Looking to buy Luxman amp. Any one having reference for old Luxman then please share as such new Luxman is quite expensive.

I see so many people seeking out vintage Luxman amps.. Really curious - are Luxman amps really that good? Are there no modern solutions that can compete with them in sound AND price?? Are there any special cases where only these amps work and not others? Can you mod them and make them sound significantly better than original ??

Electric/electronic devices are suppose to improve quite rapidly over time, so really curious what makes people to seek vintage amps.
