I am from Chennai and I have a listening room of 15 X 12 feet. I am planning to buy Marantz MM7025 (140W X2). Is it a good decision or should I buy some lower rating like PM7003 (70W X 2)?

What is the best price for these amps and from where in Chennai that i could buy a genuine product?

Pls also suggest the following:

1) Tower Speakers suitable for both amps.
2) Is buying through Borderlinx a better option? If yes, should I have to run behind the Customs for completing the formalities. What would be the landed cost if i buy through them?

The MM 7025 is a two channel power amp, so you would need a pre.

If you are after stereo setup.. you have two options
1) Go for a pre-amp + power amp combo OR
2) Go for an integrated amp

The combo will be costlier than the integrated amplifier. So you can chose an integrated amp and no need to get an AVR for stereo. You can go for Marantz PM7003 or 8003 for a bit more power.
Let us know your budget (fpr amp and speakers) and your music tastes... do you like any speaker or have auditioned any as of now?

My budget for amp is 30K and for speakers 20K (Used). I love fast beat songs, bass (not boomy) and string instruments like guitar, veena, violin etc. I have not auditioned either the amp or speakers so far. However, I prefer Marantz for integrated amp and wharfedale diamond 9.5 for speakers.

Accessories4less: High End Audio at Low End Prices! sells hifi products at 30-40% discount. Is there anything wrong buying through them?

Pls let me if there is a way that i could connect rear spkrs also with a 2 channel amplifier, as a future upgrade.

Since you entering into the stereo, I suggest you look at our for sale section and pick a used Integrated amp and speakers. Use them for 1 year and then look for upgrading them. Also, it will give you enough time to find out what you need.

Spend money on integrated amp, speakers, and a good CDP. Look for the used route.

I arrived at a decision to go for Yamaha AV-RXV671 receiver. Which will be the best suited Floorstander under Rs.30K? For info, the receiver's output power is 125W. I can afford only Front Speakers for now. Can I operate an 7.1 channel AVR only with Front Speakers connected? Any precautions? Pls advise.

You may use AVR in stereo mode.
Mission m34i will be a good choice.
Just for your information, I realized that an AVR won't do for me only after buying an AVR(yamaha RXV361). I sold it at loss and bought Marantz PM 6002. Now I am happy. So if you more than 70% into music, go for stereo amp or at least take an audition of similarly priced stereo amp before settling on AVR.

+1 or try Marantz AVR SR5005 / 1601. Both can also be used as Pre-Amp and later you can add Power Amp.
