Hello,

Any one got Marantz PM6005/ auditioned it.
I am looking for to move up from my existing Yamaha AS-500. Considering the current price of PM6004, Hifimart offer for PM6005 is irresistible.
Seeking FMs feedback on PM6005.

Regards,
Bhaskar Raj

As far as I know, distri does not have 'stock' of the PM/CD6005. Am also waiting to 'demo' it
;)

Thanks Denom! yes it is no where mentioned with any of the dealers except for HifiMart. The price is lower than current elsewhere price of PM6004 :licklips:
Eagerly waiting for expert FMs review, until it is available here for audition

Look for something better. Yamaha as500 to marantz pm6005 is a side grade not an upgrade. Why don't you look at the Cyrus and primare amps on sale in the for sale section?

@ KillerBrain- I am looking to pair with Tannoy V4. Audition may not be feasible :(

@reignofchaos- Thanks for the wise suggestion. Would definitely consider it but with a modest budget of 35K I would have to keep an vulture eye on the sales thread :D

To give some background, I am having a Marantz PM53. I am still happy with it and jumped to Yamaha looking for an enhancement in SQ sheer based on the rave review it have got. I am still holding this Marantz unit and will be using it for my secondary system (someday). The Yamaha compared to Marantz is thin, bright sounding and I find deeper bass missing hence I am in market again and leaning toward Marantz.

As on why PM6005, maybe experience with PM53 or the Cirrus Logic CS4398 based DAC it has. This eliminates the immediate need of a DAC which I was planning to add to my configuration. And I am ok with Marantz warm signature.

Having said, that I dont have any experience with any other hi-fi components and still a toddler here.
Please do let me know your thoughts and advices.

Hi rajbhaskar, I do own the same setup (Tannoy and Marantz) and its awesome. Bass is very tight and lows are crisp. Setup is very good for Music as well as ocassional Movie play. Plaese so pair this with good source.

Thanks for the feedback Mehc!!!!
Are you using V4 with PM6005 or PM6004. Asking out of curiosity as I am yet to come across someone owning 6005 :)
