Matching Speakers for Pioneer VSX 919

Hi All

I am new member of Hi Fi Vision. Need your advice to buy speakers for Pioneer VSX 919 AV receivers. Initially I would like to buy two front channel FS speakers, later on I will add others speakers to complete the set up. My interest is more towards musis then watching movies at home. My budget is around 30k to start with entry level speakers.

Is your budget 30K for 2.0 or 5.1? If it is for 2.0 look for speakers from companies such as Wharfedale, Mission, Q-Acoustics, etc. A full 5.1 of these companies would cost between 60 to 80K, but you can build slowly.

Wharfedales are a very good match with Pioneer VSX series AVR.

You may opt for the Diamond 9 or 10 FSs to begin with, then add the others later on.

I was forced to consider the Moviestar 70+ package (satellites) with a Pioneer 519 due to paucity of floor space, but still this is doing a great job on music, and quite a good performance with movies.

I would like to thank forum members for valuable inputs and posts which helped me to finalize my speakers. After audioning to many brands I finalized MA BR5 floor standing speakers. Now I am also infected with HIFI virus and thinking to go for sub...need forum members expert advice.

Using BOSE AM15 with PIONEER VSX 919 AV Receiver - AWESOME sound. Only need to crank up the volume to almost -10 or -5 to get any 'punch' in sound output when watching BD movies.
Listening to music is pleasure.

Extremely happy with above combination.

Thanks, I am using BR 5 with Pioneer 919 and mostly listening music. When I was using DVD player to play CD I have to crank the volume upto -15 to -10. Now using marantz cd player and getting very good sound even at -25 to -20.

Congrats on your new purchase! How much did you get them for and from which dealer?

Thanks for the information.. I live in Dwarka and personally know Denny for a while now.. Very nice dealer and in fact I'm also in the process of getting a pair of speakers but haven't quite made up my mind.. RX 6 is one I think I liked over the quad 22l2.. (You know how confusing these auditions can get..lolzz)..

Honestly, I considered the RX 6 only after I heard the BR 5.. They sound amazing and at 40k it is probably the best bet in the market.. def sounded like an expensive speaker.. congrats again..

That time 40K bugget was on higher side for speakers but after sometime I realized that spending on good pair of speakers is worth. I can understand that audioning is speaker is very confusing task because you are not getting all the speakers at one location. Every time different room accoustic and different equipment and most of the time mind is biased towards last experience.
Till now happy with BR 5, gr8 sounding with lot of details.

Vinshar, when did you purchase BR5 for 40k ?
Danny is still selling it for the same price and BR6 for 58k
Where you quoted anything for RX6 ?
