Mitsubishi Mr Slim MS-H18VA VS Daikin FT50-MV16: Which is better?

Hi guys,

I am unable to decide between 1.5 T Mitsubishi Electric Mr Slim MS-H18VA and Daikin FT50-MV16 for my house in Chennai. Both the units are made in Thailand. My main criterion is cooling temperature, fan noise and quality. My dealer is rating Mitsubishi> Daikin in quality and performance. Any advice on which is a better make and which would offer better cooling.

5 Star Daikin FT50-MV16 costs around 41,500 excluding copper pipe (COP-3.40, Gas- R22)

4 Star Mitsubishi Mr Slim MS-H18VA costs around 38,000 excluding copper pipe (COP-3.29, Gas- R410)

Mitsubishi all the way, I'am a proud owner of 1,1.5 & 2 Ton Mitsubishi mr.slim... The 1.5 ton was bought in 2004 and it still is omnipresent in the room, hassle free operation for almost a decade. Just periodic maintenance is all that's required. It's the most silent I can bet on that.

But on the other hand I would advise you to go for an inverter based ac, which is the future. Please read the thread started by 'Rishiguru', you will understand why...
