Recently I bought MA RX6 floorstanders for 67k. Its a good choice. Lot other options are there which are cheaper than MA. Post your av setup details and get suggestions from others who got knowledge in AVR.

thanks for reply, i'm also interested to know from where you purchased the speaker and how is the sound? i'm interested in full 5.1 speaker system, i make my mind for onkyo tx nr-609+ monitor audio, is onkyo nr 609 avail. in India? it is not updated on onkyo india site, i also contacted monitor audio India sales site audiopeople.net, in reply they said that monitor audio rx6 was not avail. instead rx8 avail. price for Monitor Audio RS 8 front tower speakers is : Rs.1,04,000/pair

you might also want to check the Marantz SR7005 along with the MOnitor audio since those two are supposed to pair well from what I've read in the forum. And its available in india. Just search the forum for the SR7005 and you should be able to get the relevant info.
My cobrother is getting his RX6 AV12 in piano black tomorrow and I'll let you know the details as to price etc asap

Monitor audio RX 6 silver series are great value for money...nothing comes close at that price, I have auditioned more expensive speakers and finally went for the RX silver ..the timbre is amazingly matched..Highly recommended.

i found the RX6 better than RX8 ...just a personal choice I guess..cheers

Did you find monitor bright? That was my first impression. What AV Reciever goes well with Monitor ( esp for Music).

The best combination I have experienced is with cayin tube amps....I have also seen them producing beautiful notes on a cheap$30 china amp!

It is not bright....front speakers need to be placed 1m away from the wall and sidewall...and you will have the illusion of the sound coming somewhere in-between the speakers.

You don't need to be at the sweetspot to get the best effect...


Marantz avr are the favourite....I am using marantz....but I am sure they will sound great even on onkyo or denon.

67k for RX6 is very attractive. The best that I have come across is Rs 71k in Mumbai. Where did you buy them from and did that include shipping?

Can you please let us know from where u picked up the RX6 for 67K, as i am also planning to buy the MA RX setup.
I auditoned it with Cayin, which sounded pretty good. as correctly pointed, you dont have to be in the sweet spot. i have personally checked this.

Also which sorround speakers will suit better which can be wall mounted. i have BX2 in my mind.
Also guys let us all know who are planning this setup which AVR is better Marantz or a Denon.

Hi guys,

I have also zeroed in on RX6 AV12 set up minus the sub.
Now i am confused which AVR to go with it. i did a audition with a cayin which was good.
in the forum i see that all mention Marantz is the best with MA RX6. if it is Marantz does SR6006 suffice or should i go for SR7005.
Also the MA dealer is recommending Pioneer 1021K. he also said denon's have some problem with their cards when i asked him about 3312 which i almost bought it.
So my humble request to all you guys is which AVR should i go for. i have read some good reviews for Yamaha A1010,A2010.
My listening will be Movies, Music(indian classical,western classical,POP, hindi , telugu) and TV.
I am planning to buy this week, so pleas reply as soon as you read this.
