Must have blu rays

Is there anything like that the essentials in entertainment..?

I think it all depends upon your choice, taste etc.. anyway there is a CNET article on few must have blu-rays.. google for it.. but it is generic, and may not necessarily means that you should get them all.. but definitely few of the must watch/have movies.. but not all ... I will cite an example.. the Inception is one of the most recommended movies & I have a copy of the same, but really not to my likening and chances are rare that I will watch it many times over.. so it is a kinda waste for me, as I could have rented the movie for viewing which is quite cheaper..

Yes .. I agree.. not all are of one's liking.. so I my advise is that based on the GENRE or actor or director you can browse for the best rated movies at IMDB.. with the feedback and comments you might be abale to zero down the collection that you might be interested. Please note we have a thread here on the movies liked by the members where everyone gives very brief feedback on the Movies they recommends.

There are movies that you like and those you don't like. Then there are movies that you think you like (and then buy) and then you don't like. But at list a big collection gives you some brownie points. :):p:D

quite true, it depends upon one's taste

still I feel w/o these someone's collection (or buying or seeing BDs) remain incomplete

1.Schindler's List (yet to release)
2.The Great Escape (yet to release)
3.Apocalypse Now
4.Psycho
5.To Kill a Mockingbird
6.12 Angry Men (Mono sound, so what?? don't you want to see it again and again??)
7.Lawrence of Arabia
8.Ben Hur
9.Bridge on the River Kwai
10.Shining/Gandhi/Chinatown/Once upon a time in the west

well someone may differ which is quite possible, but for me these are must (along with many others) because I will see these every year and will probably ask my children to see these when they are enough grown up, so that means these should survive some 2-3 decades, with all these in mind BDs are best bet, aren't they?

BTW, I liked the expression: nothing is essential in entertainment - quite a good remark

@Bluraymaniac and @AKD - both of you have good collection :) - have you guys uploaded them somewhere? please mentioend the link if you have. Regards!!!

Hahahahaha, as the first reply on this thread said, in Movies/Music/Entertainment everyone has their own preference. I have right now about 100 BRs but none from these. These are definitely classics but I did not like them that much to waste my money (means I dont think I can watch them more than once) on the above listed movies

akd.. your list is all time classics.. the must see movies.. and frankly speaking you'll feel proud to show off those movies to anyone .. there are many that can be added based on one's own taste and genre

but few movies I might have seen many times over and never feel bored.. The Batman Trilogy (Dir-Nolan), Spiderman Series, MI series, Any Hitchcok movie, Shawshank, Usual Suspects, All Classic westerns (incl Once upon.... ) and any other suspense or action movie including the Bond series.. so the list goes on..

My collection is a little modest, I think. Links available in my regular (not tapatalk digg).
