Hi,

Just wanted to share my experience and set up with the Epson EH TW6100.
Bought it last week in Mumbai. The broad specs are 2300 lumens of brightness and 40000:1 contrast ratio. It also has inbuit speakers of about 20 Watts which I thought would be more than enough at the outset. I was a bit sceptical about using the PJ in ambient light but took the leap of faith. ( Finally I am using it in Cinema mode with just ECO light. Cinema mode uses the least lumens as it is)
I basically installed it myself since I had planned to keep it on a shelf/ table with a height of about 3 feet 10 inches. Installation involved just supplying power, connecting the HDMI and thats it !
The projection screen was my wall opposite to the table on which the PJ is kept.
The video source is the PS3 and ASUS HDP R3/ OPlay Air. So far I have tested only rips on this and yet to experiment with SD/ DVD content though I am sure the PS3 will upscale SD.
Though I want to write more, in the interest of time let me just add that this PJ can be used just out of the box by manually shifting the focus dial and no other calibration is generally required.
I am not an expert with the camera hence please excuse the quality of snaps.
Hope you enjoy these.
Cheers

Great start to building a projector based HT setup. Are the projectors connected to the sony speakers/amp?

great bro..real great....
are the shots with ambient light(a tube light is there in the 1st pic)...?
thanks.
you will be blown away when a blu ray is played...
enjoy

Gr8 setup! I have acer h5360 which I am temp projecting in wall! So when u project in wall, do you sit next to projector? Becoz my projector emits lot of heat on side!

Thanks,
Praveen.
sent from SGS2 skyrocket.

nice setup mate.. even though this is a temporary setup, just touch up the black marks in the wall, so that u could get a superb image with no hiccups..

BTW where are you speakers placed..Only saw 2 of them beside the projector..:)

Thanks for your comments-
1.Yes my wall needs repaint :-) but once the pj is switched on I just tend to forget the marks & scratches
2. The PJ does emit heat from one side hence thinking of doing a ceiling mount
3. Yes I use the Norge amp to amplify the sound through either the Monitor Audios or the Sony Bookshelves but the problem is that the speakers are sitting next to the PJ hence currently I hear the sound from behind :-)
4. I do plan to do something about the sound though or I may sell my Norge, Monitors and Sony and go for a dedicated 5.1 though I must admit that the speakers in the PJ are so far good for the job. One idea is to go for Bose Cinemate II which is a 2.1 system- easy to mount etc but costs about 44k !
5. The snaps are taken with just 1 light in the room above the PJ and the lamp running on lowest power (Cinema with eco mode)

Thanks for watching.

you will get super shots.
pause a scene
put night portrait mode on
flash off
put timer on say 10 sec
keep the cam upon a say..book/table
click..click

and yes a screen will blow you away..
