Here is my latest build. For past several months I was not able to sit on the workbench due to various commitments. Finally got the time and was able to complete and the results are extremely gratifying. The output transformer winding was the most time and effort consuming portion as it is the audio OPT which makes or breaks the sound. And since it is a 8 watt per channel, the OPT was designed to handle 12 watts to accomodate for the headroom.. That made the entire amplifier very heavy( 15 kgs) 2 OPT + 1 Power transformer...The color combo pattern was as per the requirement of the Audiophile acquaintance who requested for this build..( Red plate + black transformer box). The frame is made up of teak. The Vu meters are placed inside and this will ensure protection against accidental damage to the Vu meter glass. The sound is well balanced with the typical SE sound signature.. Bass is ample, and it drives my Technics 3 way to loud volumes, good enough for a 16x12 listening room..I am happy the way it turned out to be a visual and aural treat... This amplifier will reach its owner soon, but the idea is to do some auditions before that, with the regular Audio Enthusiasts from Chennai...

Very nice!

What input tube are you using? Got any underchassis pics? Could you post a schematic?

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
