Hi ,
I am new to this forum and i dont have much knowledge about Home theatres as well. I am currently using a Philips HTS5520/94 1000w Home Theatre.
I am very confused between power of these yamaha, onkyo, denon etc amplifier powered sound systems. Also on a very tight budget of 40k.
Just bought a samsung 40" smart led tv. Want to improve sound system as well. All the help is appreciated.

Thank you.

Hey there,

Within 40k, you can opt for HTiB from Onkyo (HTS-3500), Yamaha(yht-196, yht-1810, Yht - 2910 and yht-299) and pioneer.

Best would be to go and audition these systems so that you know how they sound what they are capable. We telling you which is right for you is not the solution.

You need to first look at what all you want to hook up to your TV and what is ideal usage (movies or music or both) because for the latter, some systems sound better for music than for movies.

If you are seriously interested in Home theater, Then i suggest you to please drop the philips, sony,lg,samsung and buy yourself a Reciever(AVR) and some 5.1 speakers to connect your avr. Read some articles on google and this forum. Once you get familiar with all the terms regarding a decent home theater. You can then post your music/movies requirement and then we will guide you accordingly. You can go for htib's from yamaha, denon, pioneer, etc But If you go with separates i.e buying a separate avr, Some decent Bookshelf speakers. Then Add center, subwoofer, surrounds. The final result will be very good compared to htib systems. I too started with the idea of buying sony, samsung,lg,etc and on suggestions from hifivision members i invested in avr+separates. And i am very happy with my purchase. However You need to be patient for building a decent system. With you current budget I can suggest you to buy a starting range AVR for about 25K and invest 15K on bookshelf speakers. Then add a center channel, subwoofer, surrounds later.
EVEN IF YOU INVEST IN HTIB SYSTEMS FROM ONKYO,YAMAHA,DENON,PIONEER IT WILL DEFINATELY BE BETTER THAN SONY,LG,SAMSUNG,PHILIPS.

Sony BDV-E4100 1000-Watt 5.1ch Full HD 3D Blu-ray Disc Home Theatre System
F&D F3333U 5.1 USB Speaker
Philips HTL9100 Fidelio wireless Soundbar (with detachable Wireless Surround Speakers) these HT Speakers i can recommend to you

Sony BDV-E4100 1000-Watt 5.1ch Full HD 3D Blu-ray Disc Home Theatre System
F&D F3333U 5.1 USB Speaker
Philips HTL9100 Fidelio wireless Soundbar (with detachable Wireless Surround Speakers) these HT Speakers i can recommend to you

All these are not good and will not be able to stand against even the basic separate avr+speakers.

I would suggest the onkyo HTIB . i have heard them before. Pretty decent. This is good enough for the budget you have.

Boston acoustics 5.1 is available on ebay.in, dealer is sounds-good.in is it worth buying from there ? Price is 23,490.
System is currently available on hifimart.

I auditioned Sony Muteki K55sw . the sound is great. i like the treble + it is a 5.2 system. the base is simply awesome. Could anyone advise which one is better ... Yamaha 2910 / BA-Soundware + denon avr-x500 / Sony Muteki 5.2 1950w rms ? CONFUSED !!

I finally bought Sony Mu-te-ki STR-K55SW. It is beast when it comes to sound output. I tried denon and yamaha and I don't know how people compared yht-299/2910 sound to this system..... It is way above the
Yamaha system. I never thought I'll say this for Sony but this time they have earned it. Nonetheless I would like to thank all the hifians for their support and wise advises.
Thank you everyone.
Cheers :)

At this budget i would opt for denon avr-x500 + ba soundware xs 5.1 it would cost about 45k

I'm also considering this denon avr-x500 + ba soundware xs 5.1; anyone has this setup? How good it is?

second option is Yamaha YHT-2910 ...

Which one will be better? mainly movies and some music as well.. Thanks!
