Always loved this piece of history! Being a student and not able to afford, i gathered some initial capital to buy some broken 30gb ipods and repair them for money.
Doing this helped me sharpen my skills and also earn some profit! Low and behold, i found a prestine ipod 5.5 gen 80gb with all original parts, prestine hdd and a new battery lasting a week. I quickly pounced on it and made it mine.
Having some spares left, i modded the clickweel to white for some contrast. Put some vinyl to protect the original faceplate as 3rd party onces are available but cant match the quality of an original apple product.
Also, the wolfson dac is wonderful to listen to! Drives any headphones insane! With the dock and radio output accessories, its unbeatable!
