Hi all,

Here's my music system

Modified version of Wayne J's Eros MKII(speakerbuilder.net)

Drivers: VIFA Vifa PL18WO09-04(7 inch woofer, 4 ohms) and Scan Speak D2905/9500 tweeter.

Amplifier : Nad C320BEE
CDP : 541BEE
Speaker wire : Belden 12AWG
Interconnect : Blue jeans interconnect

The speakers were built more than an year back.

I got the drivers and the Blue Jean cables from US.

I got the job done from the carpenters, so I need to thank the carpenters I had to change carpenters 3 times

Could you please let Us know what mods did you do to the original design ??

Also please give Us some info on the crossovers,Like you made inductors or got them made etc....

Please don't mind but Am just curious thats all !!!

But whatever it is,its really nice to see and enjoy a fellow DIYer's project ! Hope to more such !!

Hi soundsgreat,

The original Eros MK11 crossover uses 8 Ohm Vifa PL18WO09 and the final impedance is 4 ohms.
One of my friends got the crossover changed to get a final impedance of 8 ohms. He got the crossover modified from Madisound. Even I was looking for a speaker with an impedance of 8 ohm, so I used the modified crossover provided by my friend. I used the 4 ohm Vifa PL18WO09 instead of the 8 ohm driver to achieve this.

The components that I used for the crossover are as follows( I got these from parts-express):

Solen 9.1Uf-400Vdc Poylpropylene Capacitor
Solen 20.0Uf-400Vdc Polypropylene Capacitor
Mills 1.5 Ohm 12W Non-Inductive Resistor
Mills 10 Ohm 12W Non-Inductive Resistor
Jantzen 1.50Mh 14 Ga Copper Foil Inductor
Jantzen .60Mh 15 Ga Air Core Inductor
