I have my heart on the NAD 326BEE. the 316 is entry level and I cannot afford the 356. I will audition the Marantz PM6004/7004 but the NAD's produce really good SQ.
NAD owners - Any opinion?

Lakozy has PSB's which sound good - Image BS 6 and Image T5 FS. Any other speakers that would sound great with 326? I'm looking at MS aviano 2 (BS) or Aviano 6 (FS) ..

Regards and thanks

C326 and Image B6 are a match made in heaven. Listen to the combo and then decide. To some it may sound a touch warmer than necessary, so an audition is a must.

The Avianos on the other hand are brilliant speakers as well. Mate them well with a CA or similar amp and even that's an enviable option below 50k.

What are your room dimensions and budget? Source? Listening preferences?

First off let me say that I'm pretty pissed that you Pune guys plan a hifi meet and exclude Mumbaikars :) .. I woulda loved to join you guys at your auditions n home jamboree .. Enjoyed reading n seeing your pics.

I have a rectangular living + dining room of 12 * 20 of which half (12 * 12) is sound stage wid front throw of 12 ft. Plan to spend about 30 - 40 k on amp and similar on speaker. I am royally confused between a fs or bs and have posted a detailed thread on speaker called BS vs FS. Pref is 60% music, 25% movies hence picking the amp instead of avr.

How will a NAD n MS aviano pair ? Mucho appreciated

Off to see Portugal vs Den now ..

NAD c326BEE + PSB Image B6 = Awesomeness!

As ruenigma mentioned above, the overall sound signature is quite warm and laid back, so if you like shimmering highs in your music, this combination will not work for you.

This combination is also outstanding for movies. (I use my 2-channel setup for movies).

The amp is more than adequate for these speakers. In my medium sized room (about 10ftx18ft with a 5x4 bathroom intruding into the back of the room), I rarely go above the 9 o'clock position while listening to music (= about 78-82dB while sitting 7ft from speakers).

I almost decided on a C356 + Mezzo 6 combo about a year ago before I stumbled upon Dali... NAD + MS can provide a good balance between warm & Neutral... having said that... even PSB, like MS offers a neutral character and hence partners well with NAD. Hear both and choose... you won't go much wrong... however, MS really shines in the mezzo range whereas Image series is very good. I am not sure about aviano.

Just in case you're looking for a bit of a deal, something I saw on ebay.in

nad 326 | eBay

Kindly note that I have no affiliation with the seller nor any commercial interest. Just posted to draw your attention.

The C326BEE is a terrific amp, its an upgrade over the C320 and C320BEE.

Edit: If you're planning vinyl listening, you'll need a phono pre, these amps have a disc input option (which is basically an aux input)

While I really loved the PSB B6 with the NAD 326. Till then I had not heard the Paradigms Titan monitors. Both are very similar sounding. I preferred the Paradigms over PSB only slighty.

So I picked up NAD 326 BEE paired with the Paradigm Titan Monitor about a week back :)

Would suggest you to try out the Paradigm Titan monitors. While at the dealer i had also tried out the 316 which did not sound bad at all.

If you have a liking for rock both paradigm and psb will sound sweet

Madmax

Soul: curious why you suggest to avoid pairing NAD with MS? Is this a compatibility issue or poor integration etc?

What he is trying to say is, prefer a speaker with slightly better highs to compensate for the warmer signature of the NAD. Moreover NAD and PSB are sister concerns and hence match up very well.

Similarly CA+MS mate well.

And to confuse you further, like MADMAX says try an d audition NAD+Paradigm as well. I have both the combos and can't really prefer one over the other. :)

The NAD + MS combination was tried by me in my home for two full days and it was a winner among - Denon, Yamaha Cambridge Audio paired with Tannoy, Polk Audio, Jamo. I narrowed down to Mezzo 6 with either CA840 or NAD C356 and after much delibration I chose NAD + MS rather than CA + MS (both being sister concerns). It is the specific pairing not a general rule.

However, a disclaimer - the MS I tried was Mezzo 6 and NAD I tried was C356... Things may be slightly different at lower budget level.

Thanks bro! you got it right...

MS' is a bit of a laid-back speaker that combined with NAD might sound very dull and lifeless (my personal experience).

With PSB B6 and MS Mezzo - I'm hitting the 40K range. While they sound very well, should I also audition some entry/mid level FS? Especially if I can pick them up cheap?

has anyone tried out 326BB with PSB T5

RuEnigma: You sir have not commented on my dilema on FS vs BS.

For the room dimensions you have given, I'd say stick to the best possible bookshelf on stands you can afford. Its not too large a room. and your listening distance will almost always be 4' less than the room length. So a BS makes more sense to me.

With that out of the picture, you can look at BS like PSB Image B6/ Paradigm Titan Monitors etc. I was using a C326 with the Titans all along and recently got a C356 and the difference is clearly evident even to my parents. So since you may save a lot by going for bookshelves like Titan/B6 around the 25-30k mark. Use the remaining funds on better amplification.

Don't get me wrong I love the C326 and using it daily with my PSB Images but the value added to the Paradigms by a better amp is priceless.

I've heard the T5 with a 315 and a 375 not a 326. The T5 are beautiful speakers but a touch veiled and meaty in comparison to the B6 with similar amplification.

are you suggesting that the 326 are not good enough for the bookshelves?
 they are around 40 k !!
